Welcoming Alejandro Rueda: The Newest Member of the BrightBuilt Team

We are excited to welcome another new member to our BrightBuilt Home team of designers and high-performance fanatics! Meet Alejandro Rueda, who hails from Tucson, Arizona and brings his design chops, and passion for sustainable building along. As a way to get to know him better, and to introduce him to our BrightBuilt family, we thought we'd ask Alejandro some of our signature pointed questions.

Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from, where have you been, and how did you get here?

Howdy! I grew up in Bridgeport CT, and moved to Tucson, Arizona to study architecture at the U of A. I soaked up the desert sun there for a few years but now I'm back in beautiful New England.

Why is Net Zero building important to you?

Our dwellings undergo endless evolution, just like our human bodies do! I want to live in a world with a more comfortable, resilient, and sustainable built environment.

If given the option, which BrightBuilt design would you build and move into tomorrow?

A Torrey with a shed roof, somewhere forested and near water.

If the BrightBuilt Home team were to become stranded on a remote island, what role would you take on to ensure everyone’s survival?

I’d work on scavenging parts from our plane crash to fashion tools and eventually make a boat.

A new sitcom about the daily antics of the BrightBuilt team has been picked up by all of the major networks. Who is cast as you?

Jeff Goldblum would be pretty chill

You have figured out how to place a BrightBuilt Home anywhere; not just in terms of geographic location, but rather, on, under, over, inside, on top of, or beside anything. Where is the first place you set one?

Somewhere along the rugged shoreline of the Shetland archipelago.

And most importantly: What fashion trend did you use to rock that you now wish you could delete from your past?

My first year away at university was quite experimental. I spent a few months only wearing overalls, I was enamored by their utility!
